Description
Drinking from animal horns and vessels made in the shape of animal horns was well-known in Scandinavia before, during, and after the Viking period. Horns were mainly used for celebrations and ceremonial use as drinking vessels for nobles. Each of these horns are individually crafted, between 16 inches and 19 inches long. No two are the same. The exterior is polished to a smooth shine. Coloring of the horn varies according to how it was grown in nature. Mostly it is black and calcium white. Usually horns of ale wouldn't stand up on a flat surface, so you'd have to hold on to it until you were finished but not anymore this lovely horn includes a wooden horn rack to hold your horn upright or display when not in use.*Please wash with a gentle detergent and polish with vegetable oil to keep it from drying out. And from time to time you will want to use beeswax to coat the inside to keep from cracking and the inside drying out. Please remember this is a natural item and each piece is unique.
